The 2nd generation is not the best looking Tundra in stock form compared to many other half-ton trucks out there; the chrome is dated, it looks like an orca and on top of that they are getting old these days which doesn't help in the looks department. But, there are some simple DIY Tundra mods you can do that give it a totally new look to the front end of the truck, the headlights and the emblems. All these combined give a totally different look to the truck.

So, how do you make an ugly truck better looking without breaking the bank?? ...This video is a before and after of some cheap, simple do it yourself Tundra modifications for the aesthetics of the truck that made a world of difference on this 2010 Toyota Tundra SR5 TRD Off Road:

-Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior Grill Swap
-Tundra Raptor Liner Front Bumper With A Spray Can
-Plastidip Toyota Tundra Emblems - Hyerdip Matte Black
-Plastidip Grill Emblem Graphtie
-Tundra Headlight Refresh With Mothers NuLens

All of these mods cost under $400 and make a world of difference for the looks of this truck. In-person the truck really looks closer to a modern Tacoma or Tundra TRD Off Road. The end goal is to make the truck look a lot better while still looking classy, factory, OEM, Etc. The "black-out" or "murdered out" look tends to look best on trucks with white, black, grey, or red colors, but will still look pretty good on a Tundra with red or blue paint too.

The Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior grill was easily acquired from eBay for under $250 brand new with all necessary hardware. The Raptorliner was the spray can type and was bought from Oreillys auto parts, it was sprayed on top of the Raptorliner etching primer because the bumper was chrome. The emblems we dipped with Plastidip from DipYourCar. And the Tundra's headlight restoration was done with the Mothers NuLens Headlight Renewal Kit with the powerball. All of these mods took about one 8 hour day.

Next up, this truck will get a new front bumper from Demello off-road with Baja Designs LED lights, it will get LED headlights, a roof rack with a lightbar and a few more things to go from a facelift to a true facial reconstruction. This truck is going to be a hybrid tow rig, overlander and everyday driver.
