The next Warning light on the "Christmas Tree" dash of this 2008 Cadillac SRX is the Check Engine light. P0008 and P0017 are stored, indicating a timing problem on Bank 1.

Could the timing chains already be stretched at only 85k miles?
Or is there ANOTHER problem with the VVT Timing system?
