Bajiprabhu's ultimate sacrifice to protect his king, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, amidst the tumultuous events at 'Ghodkhind,' paints a picture of unparalleled bravery and loyalty. His perseverance, despite sustaining severe injuries from enemy bullets, anxiously awaiting the signal of his king's safe arrival at Vishalgad, evokes profound questions about his inner turmoil. Aware that his chances of survival were slim, realizing he wouldn't witness the triumph they fought for, Bajiprabhu's determination to fight until his last breath, is a testament to his unwavering resolve.

Renowned Marathi poet Kusumagraj, a recipient of the Padma Bhushan and the Dnyanapeeth Award, captures Bajiprabhu's psychological state in his poignant poem. Departing from his usual motivational and spirited style, Kusumagraj infuses this piece with a melancholic, mournful tone, reflecting the solemnity of the moment. Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar's masterful composition complements the song's underlying emotions, while the heartrending rendition by the legendary Lata Mangeshkar encapsulates the agony of Bajiprabhu's final moments.
