Red Sonja is based on the 16th century adventurer Red Sonja of Rogatino created by Robert E. Howard's , but the Marvel comics recreated her as Red Sonja of Hyrkania, the female companion of Conan the Barbarian, an earlier incarnation of the original character who was chosen by the red goddess Scathach as her own champion and defender of the poor people. Since 2005 she has been published by Dynamite Entertainment Comics.

Later he has mostly been Sonja's villain in DE Comics especially when he killed Ozzyus, Sonja's mentor and father figure. Later, he raised old Atlantis against the surface world and thus he takes a clear second place here.
