“We heard so much about rioting and negativity, and I wanted show my Facebook friends that someone who they know personally is out here on the street, and we’re all peaceful. We sang. We prayed together,” says Tiffany Robinson, who shared her story — along with her son Quincy — in our second episode of “Stories From the Movement.”

Tiffany explains how her children inspired her to join in the movement for racial justice: “Our children lead us to areas where we didn’t think we would go, and I love and appreciate my kids for stretching me morally, spiritually, and just as far as my character goes, they make me a better person.”

As the racial justice movement has gained momentum in recent months, our team here at Center for Interfaith Relations set out to document this pivotal moment through the lens of faith. We talked with community members about what has inspired them to rise up and how faith has shaped their role in the current movement.

The result is a video series chronicling their voices.
