How do men carry all their stuff?
What should a man carry at all times?
How much gear do YOU carry on a daily basis? Does everything you need fit in your sporran? Or do you have an “overflow system” for things like a bulky cell phone or a multitool?

Rocky and Ian discuss the challenges of carrying a lot of stuff when wearing the kilt as well as some of the options and strategies.

The bottom line is that each person is different so solutions will vary. Some of the most popular fixes we have seen include using a backpack, a cross-body bag, or a bagpiper’s belt pouch.

Of course traditionally gentlemen would carry a number of items in the pockets of their jackets. If you look at old wallets and checkbooks, you can see they are often flat and elongated. They were meant to be slid down vertically inside a jacket pocket. Even wallets meant to go in your trouser pocket were once longer. Small square wallets really became the norm after tiger fitting slacks and blue jeans became common - as well as guys NOT wearing jackets so often.

As a kilt wearer, you may want to experiment with a few systems if you find your sporran is not enough. As Rocky points out, many gents simply go “minimalistic.”
