This Mercedes SL 550 came in to get cleaned up with a multi stage paint correction & 5 year ceramic coating from StonerCarCare! It didn't look too terrible as we were working our way through the wet work portion of the job, but as we finished up, pulled it in, and threw a light on it, we saw a different story...

Once the car was decontaminated with a clay bar, I played around with a bunch of different pad + product combinations for the compounding stage of the correction. After 3 or 4 different combos, we settled with an orange griots garage foam pad and koch chemie's heavy cut. The one thing I love about heavy cut from koch chemie is the lack of micro marring. MANY times with heavy cut products, you get a massive amount of micro swirling which can be difficult to polish out, but this was clean!

After it was refined, then coated, it was apparent that this was a CLASSY car. Mercedes paint is so difficult to work with, but their black paint definitely is one of the best looking by far! I hope you all enjoyed it, if you did, leave a Like! Otherwise, toss a Subscribe if you enjoy car content.
