My mum, brother and I went to reserve the Tesla Model 3 in the very early Tokyo morning being the first in line. After getting our coffee we lost that slot however and ended up being #4 and my mum #5.

The reservation process went very smoothly with nothing too exciting going on. You simply had to complete a form, enter your credit card info and shake hands (around 5 minutes in total). We had cool chats with the employees and others placing reservations. A nice little snack buffet rounded up the cool and lean experience.

We reserved this car and put our money down before even knowing barely anything about the car. The official unveiling was a bit after that on the 31st March 2016 8:30pm California time.
