In this video I show how to remove and install a serpentine belt on a GM 4.3L Vortec V-6. The process is simple. Remove the tension from the belt by rotating the serpentine belt tensioner. Once tension is removed then remove the belt. Installation is the reverse procedure.

Note: As mentioned in the video, the process may not be exactly the same for all GM 4.3L V-6 engines out there. The particular vehicle featured in the video is an 06 Chevy Silverado. This process will be the same for all 06 Silverados equipped with the 4.3L. The process should be the similar, not exactly the same, for other 4.3L engines out there. Always do your own research and verify the information in this video is applicable to whatever you are working on.

Note: Ensuring that the vehicle is placed into park with the parking brake applied with the engine off and having the negative battery cable disconnected helps to minimize the risk of accidents.
