Apparently the FZ09’s ECM uses the gear position sensor to adjust mapping for its power modes. So it’s probably best to have a properly working sensor, don’tcha think? Cleaning mine didn’t help, so here’s a quick how-to on swapping it.
This bike is a 2014, but it should be the same for all years. The FZ07 is likely quite similar as well.
Tighten all fasteners to the appropriate torque per the manual, if you care. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
