faded SF covering Annie's Song, by John Denver. This song is dedicated to Christina's mother, Lucille Palmer, who passed away October 24th 2012. Lucille loved music, and loved to sing. she enjoyed a lot of folk and Christian music, and always had a soft spot for John Denver. This was a place we had in common, sometimes when we'd visit I'd play Leaving on a Jet Plane or Annie's Song on the guitar and she'd sing. a year ago i'd quickly recorded this, i think in just an afternoon, and mixed it, and put it up accompanied by one of the picture slideshows from the funeral. I always wanted to go back and fix it up a bit, and bring out more of the elements that got lost the last time, which mostly focused on guitar and vocals. I had hoped to do a second take on the vocals, but singing the song, i couldn't help but hear Lucille's voice in my ears, singing along. Even now i have a hard time singing this song all the way thru with any form of composure, so apparently this is how it was meant to be.
I hope you enjoy the song. if you knew her, I hope the pictures I decided to use bring a smile to your face, and bring some old memories with it.
