Building an English style longbow using hand tools. I used 70" long narrow red oak bow stave for this project. I rounded the belly on the whole bow's length. The bow ended up drawing 45-50lb at 29".
On the handle I applied stamped natural leather. On the arrows pass point I glued a piece of cow horn. Unfortunately I had not enough horns to make a full nocks like these, that were applied on English yew longbow in the past. The bow took some set, but I'm really happy with the result. Shoots just great!
