Retired Gen. John "Mike" Murray, an Ohio State University graduate, returned to the university to lead the annual veterans' tribute. Murray, who retired as the commanding general of Army Futures Command, spoke at the Rock Ceremony, honoring over 900 Ohio State alumni who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Murray expressed gratitude to veterans and praised the university's support for cadets and veterans. The ceremony, dating back to 1919, involved laying a wreath at the memorial rock. Acting President Peter Mohler thanked ROTC students for their service, emphasizing Ohio State's commitment to education, research, and service. The university, with a significant military-connected population, recently earned the Collegiate Purple Star for supporting veterans.
