I recorded this video of two lizards in our side yard in San Jose, California, on March 14, 2022. Does anyone know if they are male and/or female, and if this is behavior in preparation for mating, or two males fighting for territory? It does appear the main aggressor lizard is able to briefly bite the neck of the other lizard at about 2:58, which I understand is mating behavior, but will fighting males do this as well?
