James Webb Telescope Discovered Planet Even Better for Life Than Earth

By breaking all prior records, the James Webb Space Telescope has brought humanity one step closer to discovering the universe's greatest mystery: extraterrestrial life. A faraway exoplanet may have contained the first, as-yet-undiscovered forms of life, according to new evidence from the James Webb Space Telescope. Our view of the ability for life to exist outside Earth's bounds could be drastically altered by these findings, which have emerged
from a globe hundreds of light years distant.

This is a huge advance towards solving the biggest mystery in the cosmos, not merely another space exploration milestone. Is the discovery of extrasolar life just around the corner? Both the evidence and the implications are very strong. By sending the Webb into space, we are expanding the boundaries of what is possible scientifically and technologically, and we will perhaps one day be able to answer the questions that have fascinated people about the universe ever since they gazed up at the stars.

A water vapor, methane, and dimethyl sulfide–containing exoplanet K2–18b was found to have an atmosphere, which is a major breakthrough in the fields of astrobiology and exoplanetary science.
