Take a walk with Mr. R Umamaheshwaram, the Indian Space Research Organization's scientific secretary, as he explores the origins of the space race, and our journey to the stars beyond. Watch him navigate the space race and what we can expect in the future! Mr. R Umamaheswaran is a Distinguished Scientist and Scientific Secretary to the Indian Space Research Organisation. He has been the Chief Designer (Integration) of major subassemblies including Equipment Bay of the Launch vehicle. Many of the mission critical circuits residing in the vehicle including the entire pyro chain for all the three launch vehicles have been designed by him. Over the years, he has evolved as a domain expert in the field of system electrical integration, checkout, ground station and avionics. He has successfully led many ISRO projects such as the GSLV and has received many awards for his contributions, He is the life member of Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), Systems Society of India (SSI), and Indian Society for Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (ISAMPE).
