GMC will introduce the GMC HUMMER EV, bringing bold design and remarkable capability to the electrified vehicle space, during today’s big game, in an ad titled “Quiet Revolution” featuring LeBron James.
The spot juxtaposes the staggering anticipated performance metrics of GMC’s first all-electric truck with the remarkable quietness inherent in the operation of an electric vehicle.
The GMC HUMMER EV on sale late 2021truck will showcase the GMC brand’s design and engineering potential, and will feature:

• 1,000 HUMMER EV horsepower
• 11,500 lb-ft of HUMMER EV torque
• HUMMER EV 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds

“GMC builds premium and capable trucks and SUVs and the GMC HUMMER EV takes this to new heights,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC. “We are excited to debut our revolutionary zero-emissions truck during the biggest night in TV advertising.”

“Teaming up with GMC to introduce the Hummer EV is a natural fit. Everyone knows about my love for Hummer since high school and I’m proud to be a part of announcing the new EV model,” said LeBron James. “The truck may be quiet, but the performance numbers speak for themselves.”

The Hummer EV has 1,000 hp (746 kW; 1,014 PS), generating 11,500 lb⋅ft (15,592 N⋅m) torque from three electric motors. There will be one-, two- and three-motor variants, and the Hummer EV drive train will come in RWD and AWD configurations. GMC's figure corresponds to wheel torque (similarly to the second-generation Tesla Roadster), which is traditional motor torque multiplied through the transmission's drive ratio; this results in a motor torque figure of 715–834 lb⋅ft (969–1,131 N⋅m). The Hummer EV is expected to be full-size like a GMC Sierra and will cover 0–60 miles per hour (0–97 km/h) in 3 seconds.

GM has confirmed that there would be two variants of the Hummer EV; a truck, the "Hummer EV SUT" (the variant teased during the Super Bowl), and an SUV, the "Hummer EV SUV." While GM didn't release any images or allow any photos to be taken, the select journalists who saw both electric Hummers were permitted to share information on several design elements. Both Hummer EV variants have a removable targa top (like the Jeep Wrangler) that can be stored in the frunk, and large, 35 inch tires. Additionally, both electric Hummer EV variants extensively incorporate the old Hummer design language (particularly that of the Hummer H3 and H3T), with an upright windshield, boxy shape, and aggressive, squared fender flares, with included running boards. Additionally, the Hummer EV SUT version was said to have very large C-pillar "sails" in the back reminiscent of the Chevrolet Avalanche; but where the Avalanche added an external element to provide a slope to the back side of the C pillar, the Hummer's C pillar itself is angled back to meet the bed. The Hummer EV SUT also looked to possibly include the retracting rear window feature found in both the Avalanche and the Hummer H2. Inside, the electric Hummers each have a big upright 15.0-inch touchscreen, 12.0-inch instrument cluster, beefy steering wheel, and huge gearshift - the styling of the interiors was described as "weatherproof," "butch" and similar to the Jeep Wrangler.Electric Hummer EV Air suspension will be available on higher trim models. Hummer EV prices are yet to be confirmed but probably less than the Tesla Cyber Truck price.

The 30-second TV spot featuring James is scheduled to air during the second quarter of the big game in the U.S. and during the fourth quarter in Canada. The spot highlights the anticipated performance of GMC’s all-electric super truck, which will generate remarkable metrics in terms of horsepower, torque and acceleration while providing incredible on- and off-road capability. All of this is combined with the vastly reduced noise and zero emissions inherent in the operation of an electric vehicle. The GMC HUMMER EV will be revealed on May 20, 2020 and built in Michigan at General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant
