Tried to take up running and failed?

Here is a new way to look at running, if you have tried and failed.

For the first time runner, we face many challenges regarding metrics, data, heart rates, intervals, long runs and easy runs. But what about the adventure run?

Do you mean? Like going up and down hills and mountains for hours and hours. No.

I like to think of an adventure run, as a run with the primary goal is to explore with no focus on time achieved.

What does this look like? Well, for example on occasion I will go to my local park (Phoenix Park) and first portion of my run will be to find the deer. With the size of this park this could be 5 or 45 minutes. The next point could be to return home or decide to go down a path I have never run before.

Why should I do this? It could be your secret to enjoying running.

When we begin to run, one of the first questions people ask or google is “What is a good 5k time”. And while this is an important number to understand if you are going to work on a training plan, it is not always a key piece of information if you wish to enjoy running.

Check the video on my thoughts on why adventure might be your best running session of the week.
