My cycle tour of iceland continues, and day 9 of the tour on 27th July 2023, I rode between Patreksfjordur and Tallknesfjordur.
While it was only a short day's cycling of 20kms, the total ascent was nearly 500 metres. If I'd carried on, I would have had to ride another 1000 metres of ascent before reaching another stopping point. While I can do 1500 metres in a day when bikepacking (think my record is 2400 metres in Ethiopia), to be honest, it's not much fun! So, a short day it was :)
