Chennai Central, one of the three Lok Sabha constituencies in the capital city of Tamil Nadu, recorded the lowest voter turnout in Tamil Nadu in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Voter turnout in this constituency was 24.09 percent at 11 am, 32.31 percent at 1 pm, 41.47 percent at 3 pm and 67.35 per cent at 7 pm, Chief Electoral Satyabrata Sahoo said.
“Highest voting of 75.67 per cent has been recorded in Kallakurichi, next 75.44 per cent in Dharmapuri, and minimum is 67.35 per cent in Chennai Central, 67. 82 per cent in Chennai South," Tamil Nadu Chief Election Officer said.
