The Inspiration behind this video:

Disney Pixar's Inside Out 2 will hit theaters in Summer 2024, and it's so far promising to be the kind of success the studio has been chasing. Recent Pixar movies have significantly underperformed at the box office, with Elemental receiving a disappointing turnout for its opening weekend. It's been the same story time and time again. Lightyear, Turning Red, Luca, Soul—each of these Pixar movies failed to pull the audience's attention. However, based on the audience engagement with the Inside Out 2 trailer, this sequel may be precisely what the House of Mouse's studio needs to turn things around.

The first Inside Out movie was released in 2015 and introduced the idea that a person's thoughts could be personified into individual characters inside their heads. Each emotion—Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness—was an individual character who contributed their voices to the greater consciousness. It was a complex idea made fun and adorable, allowing Inside Out to explore Riley's changing emotions and teach children and adults alike to embrace all feelings, even the "negative" ones. Something about this idea struck gold with audiences, and the film brought in $860 million at the global box office. Now, it looks like Inside Out 2 could do even better.
