The Toyota bZ4X, the brand's first dedicated electric car, is landing in Australia this year, and CarsGuide has been given a preview. Will it thrive, or is Toyota too late to the EV party?

Journalist Chris Thompson attended a media conference and briefly drove the bZ4X, and here tells you everything you need to know about the incoming model including specifications, range, charging times, and expected pricing.

The bZ4X will have to overcome popular rivals like the Tesla Model Y and the Polestar 2, though Toyota even admits it isn't looking for big sales numbers just yet. It does, however, want the car to arrive in its highest grades, with the most up-to-date features.

Importantly, Toyota wants to make sure that when the bZ4X arrives, it won’t be holding customers back with mammoth wait times.

It's expected to arrive for a Q4 2024 launch, so stay tuned after this video for more news as it comes.
