Realizing that health anxiety was never about my health was one of the turning points from this video. It was about the need to have control, the fear of uncertainty, and the relentlessness that comes with the habit of worry.

As I began realizing these things I came to the point where I no longer believed in health anxiety.

- Symptoms of anxiety were distractions from experiencing new experiences.

- intrusive thoughts were attempts from the 2 year old to get me to grasp onto a negative idea to maintain the health anxiety state I was in out of a fear of change.

- Old health anxiety habits like checking in on symptoms, doctor visits etc were means to seek reassurance because I had so little of it growing up.

I stopped defending my health anxiety, sticking up for it at every turn because I no longer wanted to be under the illusion of protection that it gave to me.
