This video is about my custom engagement ring and the step by step process involved in making it. My fiancé and I decided from the start that we wanted to design something unique together. At first I thought I could do it through a jeweler at the jewelry shop that my family frequents, but then I realized this was all too complicated. A lot of jewelry shops just want to sell their inventory. Making custom rings isn't something they have time for or really want to do...and they may not have the design expertise to do it either. Luckily, my friends own Hidden Gem Lab (they're the founders and a couple who design and make custom jewelry together). They're based in Florida but can build you a ring no matter where you live! They'll communicate with you through a combination of zoom chats, phone and email. They were excited to help my fiancé and I create the engagement ring of my dreams. This video explains the process and specific steps that go into making a custom order diamond ring. Every wax printed setting (for sizing) and even final ring was mailed to us in New York (insured of course). My fiancé had the final ring mailed to a local FedEx store just to ensure he could pick it up and surprise me with it for the first time. It was honestly so easy and faster than working with a jewelry shop. I personally loved how Hidden Gem Lab was able to source the trillion diamonds for me so quickly to match my center stone. They made the whole process so easy and highly recommend working this way with jewelry designers who are so passionate about their craft!
