Hiking Horse Benchmark (Golden Valley Ranch Open Space): San Gabriel Mountains (Angeles National Forest), CA.

Located on the western edge of the Angeles National Forest in what is called "Golden Valley Ranch", Horse Benchmark is in an area surrounded by grasslands and suburban neighborhoods. In my opinion, the area is underrated, and thus lightly visited. I once again enjoyed the solitude, even though I was probably technically still within the city limits.
