On this day (April 2020), I planned to travel to Dallas Texas from San Diego California, despite the Coronavirus pandemic, also known as COVID-19. The purpose of this journey was to experience some Texas BBQ while not having the pleasure eating before and the plane tickets were at an extreme low in prices. Although, I was not aware at the time of the State of Texas Form for arrivals from areas designated for mandatory self-quarantine. The form stated, “Pursuant to the Texas Governor’s Executive Order GA-11, dated March 26, 2020, persons entering the States of Texas as a final destination from designated areas must self-quarantine for 14 days or the duration of presence in Texas, whichever is shorter.” There are essential businesses that are remaining open throughout the United States, including the state of Texas, nevertheless there seems to be a clear consensus on what services are critical for a functional society, and such life-sustaining businesses can stay open in states across the country. They include, but are not limited to:
• Supermarkets and grocers
• Farms and food manufacturers
• Restaurants for takeout and delivery only
• Hospitals
• Healthcare providers including physicians, dentists, and veterinary clinics
• Pharmacies
• Banks
• Post offices
• Law enforcement
• Gas stations
• Automotive repair shops
• Convenience stores
• Laundromats
• Transportation hubs including airports, maritime ports, train stations, and bus stations
• Power plants
• Shelters

Despite the outcome of my expedition, the Coronavirus outbreak has taken over the United States by storm. It’s tragic to witness the US in the way it is nowadays. As a civilization, will overcome this pandemic and for those individuals who lost their jobs due to the virus outbreak and shut downs, Godspeed.
