I decided to revisit one of the very first projects I did on my channel, where I made a template and painted my design directly on a coir welcome mat / rug. I discovered my technique used in that video hasn't held up the best over time, and wanted to revisit the project with a direct-to-rug laser etched approach that is somewhat popular with laser enthusiasts.

In addition to that, I decided to try another technique involving paint that hopefully holds up better than my original approach – and it's far easier too. While I found myself conviced of the direct-to-rug approach in this video, the painting technique could be useful if you wanted to make a vibrantly colored rug with multiple colors of spray paint.
