VEKOMA… now that's a name that's been around in the industry for quite a while. And when I say a while, I mean long enough to take Arrow's original track design and use it for themselves, thus why the track from the boomerangs look something like say Loch Ness Monster. Though this track was advanced for its time, it wasn't designed to stay 'as good as new' for decades, so, over time, the coasters became rough. Luckily for us, Vekoma realized this and has since designed a new track style that grows with the technology, and is meant to compete with other leading competitors. Vekoma developed tons of new models but the ones we will focus on today are the Shockwave, Top Gun, and Firestorm all there new launch coaster. So, today's episode of Coaster Theory we're gonna see what parks could use one of these coasters, and for the sake of this Video we are sticking to North America, these plenty of these over in Europe and Asia! First and foremost, what are these models? First is the Space Warp, currently, there is only one Space Warp made, and that is Formula at Energylandia. This is a smaller model that stays low to the ground and pops up into a couple inversions. Also features several quick pops of airtime, most likely made for parks that don't want to buy the biggest model, but still want something short and sweet. Our next model is the Firestorm. Now, there's not too much information on this model, but that won't stop us from making our own theories. There are currently two in construction in China and Vietnam… so let's take a look at those photos and see what we have. It looks like this coaster is going to have one launch, which is going to propel the train up this top hat and then it will carry out the rest of the layout. It could have a second launch that i'm missing, but let's just say it's going to have one. And look how big that top hat is, these elements are going to be much larger and drawn out compared to the Space Warp. I would say this is middle of the pack between the Space Warp and the Shockwave. The Shockwave is the third and final model we will discuss today, and it's pretty much Vekomas answer to the Intamin Blitz. Just compare Abyssus at Energylandia to Taiga in Finland. Both have two launches, a top hat, airtime hills, but mostly inversions. The Shockwave is gonna be for parks that are willing to spend the money to get that big ride to get those guests through the gates. Now, what parks can I see getting a brand new Vekoma?
