ESG Priorities Beyond the Pandemic: with Leon Kamhi (Federated Hermes), Catherine Howarth (ShareAction) and Jonas Rooze (BloombergNEF)

Why you should watch: Does the pandemic pit the S in ESG against the E? And what about better Governance at a time when firms are under stress and workforces threatened by factors outside their control? Our speakers are generally bullish about prospects for greater environmental awareness, but these are undoubtedly difficult times with budgets under stress, pressure on investment management fees and no end in sight to lockdown. As we look beyond Covid, will ESG concerns take second place to getting people back to work - or is the progress that is still being made (not least in developing common standards) so deeply embedded that it won't be derailed? Mostly, the answers are positive - but it will be a tricky time.

Moderators: Andrew Hilton (Director, CSFI) & Jane Fuller (Co-director, CSFI)

Panellists:
Leon Kamhi is head of responsibility and an Executive Director at Federated Hermes, a global leader in the ESG investing space.

Catherine Howarth is Chief Executive at ShareAction, which she joined in 2008, and a Board member of the Scott Trust (which owns The Guardian). She also serves on the Treasury's Asset Management Task Force.

Jonas Rooze is head of sustainability at BloombergNEF - which focuses on New Energy Finance. His LinkedIn page identifies him as a racing cyclist and vegetarian.
