So I discovered an “Easter egg” on my 2021 2SS 1LE LT1 engine.

It seems that when Chevrolet stopped production of the C7 Corvette and transitioned to the mid-engine C8 Corvette there was a surplus of C7 Corvette bound LT1 engines with no home.

Most Corvettes have been produced in the GM Bowling Green, Kentucky Assembly Plant including the engines. Corvette has been known for a lot of personalization features and badges throughout the years and this even extended to the LT1 engine.

Each engine destined for a Corvette is given a GM Performance Center badge with the stamped name of the person who built that engine…so cool!

With no C7 Corvettes to put the remaining LT1 engines into, it was only natural for GM to transition to the other platform that shares the same powertrain….the SS Camaro.

And here we are.

So far, what info has been gathered on Camaro6 forums, it seems that they have been only added to the 2020 and 2021 year Camaros and only those with M6 transmissions.

If you have a late 6th gen Camaro, get out there and pull your driver’s side engine cover (detailed in the video) you might have a cool little surprise too. Let me know if you do.
