On a very special day, the Sri Lankan new year, a local family in Mirissa look after me and take me in for the day experiencing a special kind of hospitality. Kansu shows me around his ancestral home in the rural jungle area away from the coast where everything imaginable grows and is ready to be eaten. At his family home the fireworks go off all day as the coconut milk boils and we enter the new year eating all sorts of tasty home made Sri Lankan food.
