NOVEMBER 8, 2020 READY TO GO
Thank you for joining us for Compline! We trust this liturgy will help you conclude your weekend with reflection, calm, and peace. Today is the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost. You can download the bulletin for this service at SaintMichael.org/Compline.
This week, the setting of the hymn “Te Lucis ante terminum”is by Thomas Tallis, while the Nunc Dimittis is sung in a four-part setting by Tomas Luis de Victoria.
Each week, in addition to the portions of the service which never change, the choir sings an anthem related to each Sunday’s place in the liturgical year. Tonight, they will sing Victoria’s motet “O Quam Gloriusum”. The text is an antiphon from Vespers on the Feast of All Saints
“O quam gloriosum est regnum,
in quo cum Christo gaudent omnes Sancti!
Amicti stolis albis,
sequuntur Agnum, quocumque ierit.”
“O how glorious is the kingdom
in which all the saints rejoice with Christ,
clad in robes of white
they follow the Lamb wherever he goes.”
Finally, now that we have begun reopening, know that you are always very welcome to attend Compline in-person. Each week, beginning Mondays at 10am and continuing until we reach our capacity, you can sign up for a seat for Compline at https://www.saintmichael.org/worshipt...
