Maverick Vinales got off to a fantastic start, leading Pedro Acosta and Marc Marquez.
But for the current world champion Francesco Bagnaia, who fell from fourth to eighth, it was a terrible start.

Fabio Di Giannantonio had to retire from the race before he finished the first lap because his Ducati caught fire after making contact with Alex Marquez at the start.
At the front, Acosta started setting up a move on Marquez for second, but Vinales was still leading.
Augusto Fernandez was also eliminated from the race after a lap one crash for the GASGAS Tech 3 KTM rider.
