In this episode I provide the history of the fourth generation of the Chevrolet Corvette, typically known as the C4 Corvette. This was the first Corvette to have a "uniframe" platform with sheet molding compound for the body panels. Launched as a 1984 model in early 1983, there was no 1983 model as delays pushed it back to force that year to be skipped. The C4 had a digital display which wasn't well-received by Corvette purists, plus its initial engine for 1984 was a holdover from the last C3 generation model in 1982. In 1990, the ZR-1 model was offered with the most powerful engine in a Corvette. The last year of the C4 had a special Grand Sport model as a send-off.
