The Senate Intelligence Committee is holding a confirmation hearing for President Biden’s nominee for CIA director, William Burns.

Burns is a career diplomat who served as deputy secretary of state and under secretary of state for political affairs during the Obama administration. He was also the U.S. ambassador to Russia from 2005 to 2008 and the U.S. ambassador to Jordan from 1998 to 2001.
