Maharashtra is the leading economic powerhouse of the country and easily will be first state to reach 1 trillion dollar GSDP. To support an economy of that size, the state is in the middle of massive infrastructure development journey including a slew of transformational road, metro and other projects.

One bureaucrat who is playing an instrumental journey in Maharashtra infrastructure projects is Shri Radheyshyam Moplawar, the vice chairman and managing director of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

Mopalwar is also the Director General Of War Room-Infrastructure Projects) in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) the war room concept set up by the previous Devendra Fadnavis-led BJP government to push key infrastructure projects in the state and to ensure their completion within a set time frame.

Moplawar speaks to Swarajya on various transformational projects that he is overseeing as part of the war room and also in his role as the head of MSDRC.

This includes the Mumbai Coastal Road, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, metro corridors in Mumbai and other cities, expansion of Mumbai Pune expressway, the Mumbai Nagpur Samruddhi Marg, Pune ring road, Thane and Konkan coastal roads and elevated roads.
