Rosie the Pig, a homemade piggy bank, has been passed down to our family and we’ve been saving spare change for years. Grandparents and great grandparents have added to it through the years and our kids have added change they find when we are out and about (our middle is a major treasure hunter!). My husband also stuck in some larger bills as a surprise for the kids when we finally opened it. This money is going toward a highly anticipated “Epic Family Vacation”. Yes, we have been searching through everything for errors and rare coins- still working on it too - but we have found several wheat pennies, a silver dime, and a buffalo nickel so far. We tried to go quick to get our grand total before taking the time to look through more closely as well as do more research on what to look for.
