When Ettore Bugatti wanted to make a car for his children, he made the Bugatti Baby – a scale model of the Bugatti Type 35 that was currently sweeping to racing accolades across the globe.
Now, almost 100 years later the Little Car Company has made a second version. This time it is a 75 per cent scale replica of a Type 35 and is fully electric. But everything on this little racer is beautifully built, from the aluminium or carbon-fibre chassis to the machined aluminium dash.
Capable of speeds of up to 42mph, dependant on spec, the Bugatti Baby II also features leaf springs, specially-made Michelin tyres, a scale replica of the badge from a Chiron and pedals identical to those in the hypercar.
But rather than just let the kids have all the fun, Road Test Editor Sean Ward went to Bicester to find out if this mini Bugatti is worth the hype.
