In this Adobe After Effects tutorial I'll show you how to achieve the Dolly Zoom effect with an iPhone 7. This is also known as the Vertigo effect, since it was first used in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo in 1958. Traditionally you would need a Dolly and a solid zoom lens. But now with the advent of 4K smartphones, we can achieve this effect with our phones! I'll show you a couple of techniques you can use in After Effects to help spice up your footage regardless of having dolly equipment or zoom lenses. You now have no excuse to get Alfred Hitchcock-like shots!

• For this tutorial, I use Adobe After Effects CC 2017. No plugins are required.

KEYS TO SUCCESSFUL VFX:

• Shoot this on a 4k camera or smartphone. Dolly into your subject or dolly away from your subject. You don't need a dolly, I just walked towards my subject holding my iPhone in my hand.
• While using the Warp Stabilizer make sure to check the No Motion tab.
