The E30-generation BMW M3 was designed specifically with Group A touring car racing in mind, and was initially intended to be a limited-run homologation special. However, demand quickly outstripped the planned supply, and more than 17,000 were eventually built.

While the E30 M3 was built in fairly large numbers as a coupe, this is one of only 786 convertibles built. This one is particularly special as it has covered little more than 1000km.
