Frank outlines the plight of academically gifted students in rural China, especially those supported by a private initiative. This sheds light on some of the difficulties rural youth have to deal with on a daily basis. Frank Song is a current ninth grader at Wahaha interested in innovation and entrepreneurship. He is president of the student council and captain of the debate team. He recently earned a 112 on his TOEFL proficiency test as just a ninth grader, and is interested in studying law at a university in the United States.
