Wilson disease is a rare genetic disorder that results from the body's inability to remove excess copper, which is an essential dietary mineral. Too much copper can lead to liver disease as well as neurological issues.

In this video, Rhonda Rowland, a former CNN medical correspondent who lives with Wilson disease, shares her experience being diagnosed and starting treatment while in college. She also shares Amanda's story. Amanda is a clothing designer who deals with the neurological impacts of Wilson disease. After experiencing inconsistent head and arm movements, Amanda knew something was wrong. Following her diagnosis, she learned how to manage her condition through a special diet, and with compression and weighted vests, along with the emotional support and companionship of her dog, Ellis. Watch Amanda's story and see how she uses her many talents to improve her life with Wilson disease.
