LAU President Michel E. Mawad conferred degrees upon a new graduating class on July 23, 2021, and delivered a message of hope to the graduates.

“Your university has this firm belief that you, in what you represent as the Lebanese youth, are the most powerful force behind Lebanon's refusal to cave in to adversity … You have the character, you have the skills, you have the intellectual ability, you have the moral fortitude and the core values to cope well and to navigate the uncharted waters at home and in the world," said Dr. Mawad in a heartfelt message urging graduates to become agents of change in the renewal and rebuilding of Lebanese society.
