According to new research, immigrants to Canada who have spent a significant amount of their lives in the country are at a higher risk of developing multiple sclerosis (MS) than those who have spent less time in the country.

MS is an autoimmune disease that can affect a person's vision and mobility, as well as cause considerable pain.

Although the exact cause of MS is still unknown, the study sheds light on the potential risk factors associated with the disease.

Global's Katherine Ward has more details on the study's findings.
