The Black Teacher Archive is an open-access digital portal that centralizes and makes public the intellectual, political, and cultural contributions of a thriving community of Black educators throughout the 20th century, from the Jim Crow era through the Civil Rights era — opening a new lens on the history of education, on Black history, and on American history.

It brings together materials from 70 repositories across the country, which have generously preserved and shared them. It is based at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in association with Special Collections at the Monroe C. Gutman Library, one of the professional school libraries that comprise the Harvard Library.
