FinTech in the Gulf: An LIBF/CSFI video on tech opportunities in the GCC, with Nameer Khan, Gorkem Cokcetin, Helene Panzarino and Karim Refaay

Why you should watch: The MENA region - and the Gulf in particular - is a fast-growing market for FinTech, and the UAE is in the lead in offering big opportunities for start-ups. This video (put together by the LIBF, with the help of the CSFI) provides an overview, and points potential investors towards the possibilities on offer.

Panellists:

Nameer Khan is chairman and a founding board member, of the MENA FinTech Association. He is considered one of the Middle East's top FinTech 'influencers'. He is also lead technical adviser for the Arab Monetary Fund's Regional FinTech Working Group.

Gorkem Cokcetin is the former Head of Mobile at the Commercial Bank of Dubai, and a senior adviser at EFMA, He is also a former Head of FinTech at Emirates NDB. He is the co-author of 'Sustainability in a Digital World', and is about to join a major tech company in a senior role.

Helene Panzarino is the Director of the LIBF's Digital Banking Centre and a lead Fellow at Imperial College's FinTech Innovation Programme. She is a former MD of Rainmaking Colab's FinTech programme. She is also the author of 'Reinventing Banking and Finance'.

Kareem Refaay is the Regional Director of the LIBF for MENA and the Gulf. He is a former Head of Talent at Al Hilal Bank, and a former Group Talent Manager at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi.
