The ULTIMATE in lathe accuracy! A GRIP-TRU collet chuck. This Collet Chuck has a D4 mount and is to be fitted to a D8 spindle.

In this video I convert a faceplate into a mount for an ER40 Collet Chuck. The difference in spindle size is significant with the D4 spindle being 125mm and the D8 spindle is 220mm.

The objective is to create the most accurate Collet Chuck with the collet taper returning a 0.003mm (0.00018”) TIR.
