Are the stock rubber tires that come included with your new Carrera Digital 132/124 or Carrera Evolution 132/124 slot car any good? If you were to spend any amount of time on the Internet researching information on Carrera slot cars, one could get the impression that the stock tires perform poorly and are inferior to aftermarket slot car tires. Actually, the stock rubber Carrera tires will perform quite well if they are tuned correctly, nearly as well as an aftermarket urethane tire. However, because of their aging issues, will require periodic re-turning whereas some other tire may not, or at least not as frequently.

The video includes information regarding truing (or tuning) of slot car tires that apply to not only Carrera but other brands of slot cars such as Scalextric, Policar, Ninco, Slot-It. Aftermarket tires, such as Paul Gage urethane brand also require truing after installation.
