The Twilight Zone’s Tower of Terror is an accelerated drop tower dark ride inspired by Rod Serling's anthology television series, The Twilight Zone, and takes place in the fictional Hollywood Tower Hotel. The attraction opened at Disney’s California Adventure on May 5th, 2004, and closed on January 3rd, 2017. In this video we take a look at the original concept for the attraction called Geyser Mountain and how it came to fruition at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the failure of California Adventure and how it lead to the Tower of Terror coming to the park and it’s eventual closure for its replacement, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout.
