One of the most iconic stretches of road in the entire United States is Highway 1 along the spectacular Big Sur coast. This April my wife and I went on a three day weekend trip and stayed in a yurt to escape the city noise and get out of cell service, and of course spend a good chunk of the weekend on some landscape and seascape photography of the iconic rugged coastline.

The Pacific water is still cold, so there was plenty of fog and mist rolling through cascading cliffs. We thankfully had some great clear weather which made for some great photographic opportunities and stunning overlook views. I even thought I lost my drone in the ocean on this trip! Long story...

In this video, we make some sunrise trips to the coast, some sunset hikes high up above the ocean, and a little bit of everything (including quick visits to Point Lobos, Julia Pfeiffer beach, and the Bixby bridge) in between.
